Actually, the bulk of this information comes from a guy named Ray Higdon.  If you aren't already following Ray, you should be.  Ray shares a short video tutorial on various business building topics every day.  Here is his link:  http://RayHigdon.com

Ray teaches an Active method of prospecting.  Most of you are doing passive prospecting by flooding the internet with advertisements for your biz op and hoping you get lucky.

So.....how's that working for you?

An active method of prospecting is to meet people and follow up with them on the phone.  I know, that is scary for most people but there is an easy way to do it.....I will elaborate on what to say when you call people tomorrow.

Here are the places where you should look to meet people who might be interested in your network marketing business:

Networking events.  These events are held in most cities/towns at least once per month. Your Chamber of Commerce is a god place to start.  They have monthly and weekly networking opportunities.  Don't go to these to hard sell your products or services.  Take time to get to know these people, and more importantly, for them to get to know. like, and trust you.

Craigslist.  Not running ads.....look for people in your area who are running ads on Craigslist and contact them.  I can assure you they are not making money yet!

Facebook Friends.  These are almost warm market contacts.  Treat them accordingly.

Facebook groups.  I don't target MLM or Network Marketing groups.  I target people in groups that are following guru's like:  Jim Rohn, Tony Roberts, Robert Kiyosaki, etc.  These are people who want to improve themselves, often financially.

Your warm market.  If you are afraid to approach your family and friends, you haven't been trained properly.  This usually works better when you have earned some money yourself.

Referrals from your warm market.  Something, like:  "I am working on a new project and I know this probably isn't right for you, but, do you know any realtors or financial planners, construction workers, truck drivers, whatever who might be open to making some extra money if it didn't interfere with what they are doing now?

Google "City Name" Professionals.  Professional people are usually to opportunities and they are frequently very successful in anything they get involved with.

Google "Realtors."  Realtors are all commission based and they are usually open to financial opportunities as long as they don't interfere with their Real Estate business, and they know a lot of people who upwardly mobile.

Google "Financial Planners."  Financial Planners are commission based and they are usually open to financial opportunities as long as they don't interfere with their current business, and they know a lot of people who are seeking additional wealth.
