From the desk of:

In the good old USA we are absolutely obsessed with celebrating things on certain days of the year.  Every day is some sort of national "this" day or national "that" day.  I used to think that we have far too many useless national observances in this country.

But, since I now sell greeting cards, and I want my customers sending as many cards as possible, I have now completely bought into these myriad holidays, and I say "the more the better!"

Here are the celebrations of significance for April 13, 2019:

National Baby Massage Day - (celebrated on the second Saturday of April).  Apparently this is the only day of the year you are allowed to massage your child in the USA?

International Creativity and Innovation Day

International Special Librarian's Day

National Make Lunch Count Day - I had to look this one up.

Brunch gets all the glamour, but let’s be honest, it’s not Easter everyday. That’s where National Make Lunch Count Day comes in.

Somewhere between breakfast, currently branded as the day’s “most important” meal, and dinner, the end-of-the-day repast (that’s right, we used the word “repast”), lies the oft-maligned lunch.

So, on April 13, let’s not skip lunch (it’s Saturday, after all).  Salad. Sandwich. Whatever it takes.

National Peach Cobbler Day - here is an Old Fashoned Peach Cobbler recipe you will love.

International Plant Appreciation Day - I love you plant!  You can read more here.

National Record Store Day - record store day?  Do we even have record stores any more?

National Scrabble Day - National Scrabble Day is observed annually on April 13th. Originally named Lexiko and then Criss-Cross Words, Alfred Mosher Butts eventually settled on the name Scrabble. The amateur artist and unemployed architect developed the word game in the midst of the depression.  Still, it wasn’t until 1948, a final name change and a trademark that Butts finally began to produce the game.

How to observe Scrabble Day?  Call your friends and play a game or two of Scrabble!  Use #NationalScrabbleDay to post on social media.

National Slow Art Day - I had to look this one up too.  Slow Art Day is an international event encouraging people of all ages to visit museums and to look at art slowly.

National Take Your Parents to the Playground Day - uh... OK!

National Thomas Jefferson Day - for all you Thomas Jefferson fans out there.

I was a customer of SendOutCards for several years before I ever thought about becoming an affiliate.  I enjoyed being able to send a birthday card here and an anniversary card there as needed.  The cards I send cost $2.75 (or less) plus postage which is the U.S. is currently $ .50.

Would you like to share a little joy in your sphere of influence?  Please accept my gift for you to mail one FREE card to someone you care about.  Includes postage anywhere in the world!  This is how we market our products, our services, and our business.  Click for more info:
