 | | Hey, great Post. Thanks for sharing. @yumiospublishing |

| |
 | | Hi Don - great blog as usual. As I was taught - never assume because you make an ASS out of U and ME. TB&L for you my friend. |
| |
 | | If I don't know. I don't know. So I guess it is up to me to know, what I don't know. |
| |
 | | Way to go Don! One should never assume. |
| |
 | | One thing I learned when I first started in sales about 35 years ago was to never assume anything! Great post Don, thanks for sharing. |
| |
 | | Very true. We all have been guilty of this at one time or another. |
| |
 | | Excellent point Don....the art of communication is so worth learning. Have a fantastic day;) |
| |
 | | Don, thanks for your insight - we can second guess it, and miss opportunities because of our assumptions - Great post! |
| |
 | | Don this is a keen observation you share in this excellent blog post. I have found this to be true in my own experience. Or at least if they know, they are not applying what they know. So best as you say we won't assume. g+1 for this one! |
| |
 | | Don, thanks for your insight in your blog. I, too, need to NOT assume that people know or understand what I sometimes talk about. I have realized that I have a tendency to say, "Well, you know what I mean." My husband makes me place a $1 in a jar when I say this. (LOL!) |
| |
 | | Great article, thanks for your transparency in sharing Don; it’s good to listen carefully before giving your point of view if uncertain of what’s been said ~ blessings and continued success in ALL your endeavors! Grateful and Victorious Velma |

 | | We all have such varied experiences and the global aspects to consider even common things to one is Foreign to another as well as age and culture from district or nationality. Many things are problems to convey to persons of other backgrounds. But I love this global community It will one day bring us all together |

| |
 | | Great insights, Don. I like to share the 777 rule ... most people need to hear something 7 times, said 7 different ways, by 7 different people for it to be internalized and for a good level of comprehension to occur; this opens up the conversation and allows me to reference other people and sources. I am sharing your post as part of the application of the 777 rule, Don! Thanks. |
| |
 | | That's so true and it has happened so many times. Thank you for sharing it, Don! Great blog! |
| |
 | | The secret if their is one is to ask questions and wait for replies. I find what was common knowledge years ago often isn't for today's youth. In many cases teachers are so busy "teaching" for standardized testing the children aren't learning what was common knowledge. |
| |
 | | I have learned this first hand Don....great perspective! :) |
| |
 | | Keeping it real as usual Don, like & share my friend |
| |
 | | Good One, Don. I will share it on face book now. |
| |
 | | Dear Don Sabelhaus..... I am a FAN of your ""Writing"".....
And I get to Learn a Lot of English Vocabulary by reading Your Blogs.... You write very very well and I love to Read your STUFF!! Don't forget I love English, but its my second language :-)!! Indeed Life can Surprise US with issues, that we Thought were in Fact common to Someone We get to share IDEAS with and in Fact ""those"" are Not common!! Life is a Flow of constant SURPRISES.... Grab this strong HUG........ |

| |
 | | Great post Don. A concept closely correlated to this is that just because you've answered the same question 10 times (What is CIOB?) to the person that just asked, it is completely new. To expand on your moral than, to be a good communicator, check for understanding and be patient with the listener. TB&L Don. |
| |
 | | Great blogpost. Listen to people is most of time the better option, then you will find out what they know. |
| |
 | | Well, done, thanks Don for the Great Post |
| |
 | | Good eye opening blog Don. Reminded me of the saying to assume makes an ass out of you and me. ass/u/me have a great day |
| |
 | | Don this was enjoyable reading and I must thank you. I appreciate your contribution to the network. Therefore it is in the nature of my gender to share this with my friends on Twitter & Facebook. Have a great day. |
| |
 | | With me and my downline, we dont assume anything. When I train, it's to teach to ask questions, then find answers to the questions. We don't know everything, so don't thing everyone else does either. |
| |
 | | You can leave money on the table assuming. I find asking open ended questions helps guide on how to continue on with the conversation |
| |
 | | Thanks for sharing this blog Don. We must share knowledge and not assume everyone knows what you know. |
| |
 | | Well written Don! Thank you for giving me insight. |
| |
 | | I know exactly what you mean, Don! This was a lesson that my parents taught me and I think about it often. |
| |
 | | Great blog thanks for sharing with us!!! |
| |
 | | Hi Don this is a great blog and subject. I sometimes still have to watch myself because I assume they know. This was a important reminder for myself. |
| |
 | | I enjoyed reading this blog. At work, I used to ask people to repeat what I had said to be sure they had the right facts and numbers. Never assume is a good philosophy. |
| |
 | | Great Blog! Thanks for the insight! |
| |
 | | Great blog Don. That is where I had trouble in the beginning of network marketing. Everyone assumed I knew what they were talking about, but I have no problem asking, "What do you mean?" or "How do you do that?" Never let pride get in the way of getting the information you need and never assume a person knows what your talking about either.
You picked a great subject. |
| |
 | | I spent 45 years trying to pound that point into various employees heads. Well said. |
| |
 | | Don, you and Julie have posted some very good points. My fellowshiping with others (listening and speaking and doing) we open the door for God to work in our lives. We don't always have to know we were a blessing. What's important is that we receive and give those blessings. |
| |
 | | Excellent post Don. Both in our personal lives and our professional lives, this situation occurs occasionally. Besides this situation, have you ever had it reversed? I've run across people who forget I cannot hear what they are thinking, and they start talking about something as though I do. |
| |
 | | Don, this is great reading, you got a good blog written here...and I assume that you understand what I talk about ;)
To be serious, its a good and interesting blog, that made me think a little too, and many others will too if they read this. Well don.
