The New Year is upon us once again. This is time for reflection on the past, and for making plans for the New Year before us. Keep in mind while reflecting, not to get bogged down, spend too much time, or get depressed if last years goals weren’t realized.
Put a positive spin on the situation; look at it as a fresh start, an opportunity for a do-over. To quote Christian D. Larson, promise yourself “To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.”
The past is gone, however, we can learn from it, it can put a smile on our faces, it can bring tears to our eyes, but no matter how much we want to, it can’t be changed. Once that simple fact is etched in our consciousness, and we come to terms with that fact, we can look to and plan for the future.
So as you are reflecting on this past year, smile, frown, laugh, cry, and learn, but don’t get angry, it was all for a reason. It brought you to this moment, and this opportunity for a do-over.
