Finding The Silver Lining in That Dark Cloud by Don Sabelhaus
You have heard the old saying, Every Dark Cloud Has a Silver Lining, or variations of it. My day started with a dark cloud, as I begun my daily internet ritual I noticed everything was running extremely slow. Now this happens occasionally and I deal with it, but today it was extremely annoying.
I had planned to get my IBO work finished quickly and get back to a book I am working on, I promised myself I was going to stick with it today until it was finished. I logged into IBO, it seemed to be forever before the page loaded, the annoying thing to me about this situation is not knowing where the problem is. Was it on my side, their side, or my connection?
I logged off, shut down my browser, and re-started it. I then went through the routine again, no change. I logged off again, shut down the browser and rebooted. Again, no change, I ran the defragger and went through the routine again, no change.
By now I’m convinced the problem lies with my connection which I have no control over, so I decide to shut down my connection and go work on the book. Before I shut it down comply I had the inspiration to write this article. As I seen it, the silver lining in this dark cloud was, the opportunity to work on the book, which is what I had wanted to do anyway.
Well to make an even longer story short, my connection is back to normal and I’ve written an article for the day, collected twenty credits, and I’m going to work on the book. So I guess there is a silver lining in a dark cloud, if we are aware of them.

Life has a way of giving us direction even though we don't think we should go that way. I guess you are right in that you were supposed to work on the book and as soon as you did everything was back to 'normal'. It gives us a chance to listen. Let us know when your book is finished! |
