2/ Develop a Content Calendar


A content calendar

is a shareable resource

that marketing teams can use

to plan all content marketing activity.

The benefit of using the calendar format,

rather than just a long list of content

to be published,

is that you can visualize how your content

is distributed throughout the year.


A social media content calendar

should organize the way

you curate and create content,

and help develop your editorial strategy.


A social media calendar cuts extra time

out of your content marketing strategy

and helps you allocate your resources wisely,

to help ensure your brand

consistently publishes high-quality,


high-performing content pieces.



Do I need one?

I am a one man team.

I try to write

a 250 word plus article three times a week.


I think I should attempt to publish to

Linked in, Facebook, Twitter and Google+


this will be a learning curve for me.


But with this in mind perhaps now is the time

to investigate

a Social Media Calendar.


This is what Hootesuite suggest:



I found a limited Hootesuite free registration

which allows you to post to three media sites

although now I have registered

that option has disappeared

so I can't show the link

although I still have access to it.


This is what Coschedule suggest:



I find my biggest challenge

is having topics to write about


fitting in the research.


I am hoping

that a calender will help me get organized

If anyone has any suggestions

I would be most happy to hear them.
