A content calendar
is a shareable resource
that marketing teams can use
to plan all content marketing activity.
The benefit of using the calendar format,
rather than just a long list of content
to be published,
is that you can visualize how your content
is distributed throughout the year.

A social media content calendar
should organize the way
you curate and create content,
and help develop your editorial strategy.
A social media calendar cuts extra time
out of your content marketing strategy
and helps you allocate your resources wisely,
to help ensure your brand
consistently publishes high-quality,
well-written,
high-performing content pieces.

Do I need one?
I am a one man team.
I try to write
a 250 word plus article three times a week.
I think I should attempt to publish to
Linked in, Facebook, Twitter and Google+
although
this will be a learning curve for me.
But with this in mind perhaps now is the time
to investigate
a Social Media Calendar.
This is what Hootesuite suggest:

I found a limited Hootesuite free registration
which allows you to post to three media sites
although now I have registered
that option has disappeared
so I can't show the link
although I still have access to it.
This is what Coschedule suggest:

I find my biggest challenge
is having topics to write about
and
fitting in the research.
I am hoping
that a calender will help me get organized
If anyone has any suggestions
I would be most happy to hear them.
