Why You Should Have The Greatest Business Card

A business card is one of the first marketing tool that every business should start off with besides ourselves of course. In fact for most small businesses and entrepreneurs it is the window or gateway to our business. However are we maximizing the benefits that can be derived from this "old marketing tool"?

With advanced technologies and new trends, digital and electronic versions have also emerged. However the old tool still has its place in marketing our businesses globally.

As a marketing tool, you need to be able to convince your customers and potential customers to hold onto this business card. Here are some of the features that will make your business card one of the best and even in-demand item:
  1. Impressive: Your business card should be impressive enough to create an immediate and lasting impact. One of professionalism, trust and success. This can be achieved by the layout of the information including logo and colours. Clarity of information will also help.
  2. Durable: Most business cards are paper-based. This makes it more something to be quickly disposed off. Is it true that your business card should be disposable? If so this is money and time going down the drain. So the material is important and this is why a plastic business card can make a difference. Too much plastic? Well maybe not.
  3. Portable: Your business card should be as small as possible making it extremely portable. It should not have to be competing with other cards for space. At the same time it should be large enough to present the relevant contact information. This allows the details to easily stand out. There are standard sizes but just like any other item, sizes are varied.
  4. Valuable: Your business card as a marketing tool should be valuable not only to you but to your customers and future customers. Have them to want to carry it every where they go. You can only achieve this if there is some added value to it. Make your card more functional than just presenting your contact information.
For  being considered one of the simplest marketing tools that any business should have, it may be time to see it as a marketing system. Taking the time to make it a serious investment that should bring life time returns and financial results will always be the first business-changing decision you may have to make.
