Internet Marketer's Perspective
From an internet marketer's perspective,there are many ways to get traffic and sell your wares. The principal method that was used from the start of the internet has been blogging.
There are obviously many ways to get traffic to support your products and services,but blogging remains a predominate internet and affiliate marketing method.
PPC,Adwords,email,Soloads,Facebook,YouTube,Banner ads,and now Twitter and Pinterest are in the mix.
But when you run a campaign,it can have a significant drain on your monthly budget and it's over very quickly.
You're hoping that you get the leads and conversions from the campaign,but if not successful,then you have to start thinking right away about another campaign.
The point here is that these methods' campaigns are all very brief,and when they're out of money,well everything comes to a dead stop.
What does your blog do that these other relatively expensive methods do not do?
That's right, you have a virtually continual advertising platform.
You can collect leads and even conversions, from articles,audios,or videos that have been on your site for years.
Obviously, blogging is not free,as you must have significant time invested to be consistent with your posts.
However,blogging has been from the start and continues to be important for the internet and affiliate marketer right as I write this article.
The other important piece,is that a blog facilitates branding, yourself as well as your company.
But what makes a reader want to subscribe to a blog? They understand what your blog has to offer and it is generally compelling and honest information.
They're able to get their questions answered. They know the blog is there to serve the enquirer,and to address important questions in their niche for a B2B blog.
B2C is the same,as you answer significant questions about your products and services as well as entertain.
This is all part of the branding process,as you focus on resolving issues,and offer valuable content.
This value-add and consistency develops your brand, people will know what to expect from you in the future.
Your brand will become more recognizable and people will respond to it.So as far as blogging is concerned,the reasons to start a blog is less expensive advertising and ability to brand.
Then there's a big difference between bookmarking and subscribing.
A bookmark is comparable to a "like" on Facebook.A bookmarker likes your site and there's a very good possibility that they'll return to your blog.
A subscriber is taking that first step and saying "yes".If you've taken a sales course you are looking for a yes or an affirmative to get a relationship moving forward.
A subscription is a committment for further interaction.
The blog is more compelling to a subscriber because you've answer a question or solved a niche-related problem.
The subscriber has committed to your blog,because they don’t want to miss any future posts on your blog,that will be able to help their online efforts.
Subscribers also are niche-related,and therefore, inherently interested in your products and services.
As I mentioned above, blogging is a great way to get leads,develop an email list,and it is relatively inexpensive.
If done correctly with consistency,it's possible to get 10 to 20 free leads per day.
Bear in mind,that the number one reason to design a blog, is to collect emails and build a list.
The other benefits from blogging include more personal development issues:
- your writing will improve dramatically
- putting together sentences,you think better
- you communicate better and with a purpose
- you'll discover who you are
- consistency must induce better habits
- logical analysis will improve
- you'll improve your research capabilities
- you’ll inspire others
- you'll become known as you brand your business
