Be The Project Manager Of Your Health

Why be the project manager of your health? Your state of health, both physical and mental, is vital. Managing it is key because your health is the focal point upon which your whole personality and well-being is hinged on.

Effective health management starts with YOU. You're the one who has the most to lose from bad health (and vice versa). For the medical establishment and Big Pharma, it's all about the money - and the HEALTH of their bank accounts.

Your Health is Your first Wealth

A healthy person is an asset to himself, his family and his community. A sickly individual is a burden to all. Taking on the responsibility of being the manager of your health is a life long project that will pay great dividends if done properly. Here are some tips to help you do just that:

  • Be Aware of How Your Body Works: Your body is unique, a complex system of interdependent parts. Be a detective of it and its unique functioning. Take the time to discover reciprocal relations that will help you understand the cause and effect of your comforts and discomforts.
  • Look Beyond Your Body: Don’t be so quick to blame your body for your health issues. The culprit could very well be your lifestyle. If you're always having acid reflux after eating fatty cuts of meat, try eliminating them, or cut back to lean cuts. The way you eat, exercise, sleep, think and act all have a huge impact on your body. A simple lifestyle change is sometimes all that's needed to improve your state of health.
  • Help Your Doctor Understand How Your Body Works: Doctors have degrees in medicine, but they don’t have a degree in your unique particular body. Only you do. Your doctor is not with you every moment of the day. Only you are. You are the expert of your body and what is good for you. Make him aware of your unique situation, needs and reactions.


Health Management is a Marathon, Not a Sprint

We often want quick and easy fixes to our problems. Unfortunately, short term solutions may not only fail, but also create other issues in other parts of your body. As the project manager of your health, take a long term view. Create an exercise, diet and mental health program that will serve as a strong foundation for your health.

This may require more determination and take longer than simply popping some quick fix pill, but it will strengthen and allow your body to maintain better health for a longer period of time. Go on, be the project manager of your health.
