Don't let people discourage you from your online endeavours.
If you operate an online business, you perchance asked yourself quite a few times why some family or people have no wish to support the new you. You will find this article interesting if you are starting an online business, but are afraid of how the family around you will react.
Frankly, it has nothing to do with you. There are various reasons why some people will refuse to encourage you in your online business endeavor. Surely after reading this post, you will understand how fear and insecurity influence the way some family and friends feel about the different you.
First of all, everyone has a history with family and friends. These are people who (claim to) know you and therefore they also have a certain image of who you "really" are. People form their opinion about you based on how you used to behave in the past. You used to be a chipper-looking 9 to 5'er and all of a sudden you're studious about fulfilling some kind of a strange dream called "self-employment". Some people may even find it very hard to assume or suppose that you might have a chance at succeeding.
People will always have decided expectations of you because they treat you based on how you have taught them to treat you. It's very difficult for them to see the change you made from another perspective, let alone that they feel like they have to support that new you.
But, what if, you are successful? Now here is where fear and insecurity play their task. Some people will have an anxiety that you will actually succeed. To not look dumb when people ask them later on why they didn't join you, they will try and do everything to put you emotionally lower, even before you're getting started. These are the kind of people who will hinder you out of personal insecurity. If you analyze certain people's words and actions, you will respect that some people actually do this all the time. They simply don't want you to conquer and the best way to make that happen is to impede you as much as possible.
Do they have to support the new you? No, they do not. Like I suggested in the beginning of this post: how they believe about what you are doing has really nothing to do with you. If you think that you need family and friends who support the new you, you might as well embrace failure right now. But there's also the flip side to this story. when they notice your success, some of them will call it luck or you suddenly won the lottery while others will remind you on how much they "supported" you.
