How do you put an image and text side by side?

One of my IBO Associates and friends asked me this question in an IBO email.

I started to reply and then opened my

HTML editor to explain each step.

Three things happened at that point...

#1: I realized that although this is a simple process,

it is not simple to explain with words alone...

in other words, images would make the explanation

much easier to follow and to understand.

#2:  The IBO email had evaporated when I returned....never to be found again-grin.

#3:  I needed to make an IBO Press Release, so the idea struck me...Why not make a PR based around the question.

The way that I put images and text side by side is with what is called an HTML editor.  The PR Tool at IBO is an HTML editor.   I use a free tool from Mozilla, which is the Sea Monkey Project, it is free and does an awesome job...

The 3rd icon at the bottom will open the HTML editor.

You can  place text and images side by side by using tables.  You can place two or more table side by side to make this happen.

You do not have to do this step, but it is my opinion that about 640 pixels wide is about as wide as you or I should make our posts (or a column) in order to be mobile friendly.  I make IBO posts at 600 px.  IBO width is 640.  IBO will adjust text that goes beyond this width, but if one or more of your  images exceeds 640, then your text and images will 'spill over' the right hand side and NOT be visible to your reader.

In the image above, I clicked on the Table icon and changed the rows and columns to one and pixels to 600.  I normally change the border to 'nothing' or zero, but I did not do this on purpose.

Why?  I want you to see that there is a border and most of the time, you or I will NOT want that border.

You see, once you use the table icon to create a table, you cannot click back on it and get the same drop down as you see above.

When we click back on the table icon, there are two things to remember
#1:  The icon will work for the table that your mouse arrow is in...for multiple tables
#2:  You will see a new drop down (the image immediately below).

In order to remove 'seeing' the border, click on Table tab and then change Border to nothing or zero, hit Apply, then OK.  The tables lines will disappear.

After eliminating your border, you will see these red lines above that indicate where your tables are.  The red lines that you see above will show up in Normal View which is for editing, but will not be seen in Preview or when you publish.

For further illustration, I have not eliminated the border below, so you can see how these tables allow text and images to go side by side.

image Side By Side Tips

When you insert your image, you may need to or want to resize it.

If the image is helping you tell your story, perhaps give it more space than your text.

You can also alternate sides.

The above might seem a bit complicated, it is not.  Try it and once you do it, you will discover that it is easy.

FYI:  Normal image widths are 320, 440, and 640 pixels.

Tables also allow us to put text and video along side each other, as you will see in the following fun story.

Cat Story!

Jennifer and Jim could not understand why they kept getting huge water bills.

It did not seem to matter how they tried to conserve.

Each month, the high bills continued.

They could  not figure out what was  wrong.

They checked for leaks and problems: the

water meter,  pipes, faucets, toilets, washer,

ice maker, and so on.

Nothing was wrong but the bills remained huge!

One day Jim was sick, so he stayed home.  As he laid in bed, he kept hearing water running downstairs.  Even though he was sick, he had to investigate, he might be able to discover what was causing the excessive water bills.

Jim finally learned the cause!  Apparently this was going on all day long when he and Jenny were not at home.  Jim knew that no one would believe this so he made a video.

I thank you for reading, my friends, and wish you much success.

This IBO Press Release is brought to you by Internet Marketer Training.

About 6 weeks ago, I began building the Internet Marketer Training channel on YouTube.

One of my websites, a weight loss web site had over 4.4 million views last month and should exceed 5.2 million for April after 26 months.  My first attempt took me about 3.5 years.  This is all through organically created traffic (content marketing).

The bottom line is that the site gets about 600 views every 4.923 minutes.  My new Youtube channel gets 600 views in about 4 point something weeks!  I share this with a grin, actually a big old smile.

Why?

I have built more sites than I can count, YouTube is simply my next challenge and it is sincerely proving to be my best and most fun learning experience yet.

What Does This Mean To You?

You can grow a web site or a YouTube channel.  It takes time, but if you keep at it, you will get there.  In addition, you will learn life changing skills that will allow you to work from home and make more money than you thought was possible.

There is a catch!

There are two simple things that separate the successful Internet Marketers and YouTubers from the rest.

#1:  They learn about the task at hand and they keep learning.
#2:  They do not quit.

Whether it is web pages or videos, you and I can take advantage of duplication, residual income, and the cumulative effect...just by learning and by just sticking with it!

The Internet can make you rich...just learn and do not quit!
