INSPIRE!
Our ability to inspire others is dependent on our personal sense of meaning, purpose and fulfillment. Through a life that has undergone and is still undergoing personal transformation you can be sure that a new life has translate into an inspiring experience for ones self and in turn for others.
To inspire others, we must be inspired ourselves. The key to inspiring people to greatness comes from love, not war. Inspiring through love, caring, compassion and hope is what gets to the heart and soul of who we all are. That's what happened to me when I met God. Although I am not perfect nor will I reach perfection here on earth, He has been changing me eversince.
We shouldn't just look to the leaders to inspire us but let each of us inspire each other. Do you have a cause? What do you stand for? A cause is a dream that connects us from our present reality to a richly imagined distant future. It stirs us, quickens our pulse, races our imagination and excites us into action.
Remember Martin Luther King Jr and his famous speech, "I have a dream...?" He was proclaiming his cause that fuels his ideology that blossoms into a movement. That was in 1963, and still is, a cause that inspires the hearts of millions, not only African Americans, because it appeals to the souls of all people.
The goal of a cause is always in terms of the needs of others - how one intends to serve. Compared to a mission statement whether personal or corporate, it usually tends to be in terms of their needs. A mission statement is self-centered while a cause is other-centered.
What are you called to do? We cannot inspire others until our gifts and our vocation are aligned; until we are using our gifts and talents to serve; until we are practising our calling. Our calling is what draws us from our inner world to the outer world - and the integration of the two. It's what moves us from our dreams to actions.
Our calling is enriched when we are able to serve because service to others is how we make a difference in the world. Once you know why you are here on earth and what your purpose is, then and only then will you find happiness and fulfillment in life! I know I'm so fulfilled and happy when I serve at a soup kitchen or teach a Bible study group or just put a smile on someone's face.
"I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: the only ones among you who will really be happy are those who will have sought and found how to serve." Albert Schweitzer
