60 is the new 40?
Well, another year has passed, and for me, this year marked my 60th. Now,that's 60 age-wise, but mentally, I am only 27...well, maybe 29.
Now, you would think that at 60 I'd be getting ready for retirement, especially since I have been in the workforce for forty-two (42) years. Out of those 42 years, there were only nine (9) months, after the birth of my youngest child, that I took a break and tried to be just a housewife. But, after those nine (9) months, I had to go back to work, as I had thoroughly cleaned the house, planted a garden, painted the house, watched all the soaps, had lunch with the girls, and so forth. Then, boredom set in. So, working keeps me young. Maybe 60 is the new 40 for me, as I find that I’m not ready to retire just yet. I am still working full-time, doing what I love in human resources.
