Everything I succeeded at in this life, I had great passion for it. I have heard many people make excuses for why they did not make it in this life. Some say it just wasn't for them or they did not have a chance to make. But I have learned one lesson in this life. "People do what they want to do". Let me say it again, "People do what they want to do". This just means that if you really want to do it, you will find a way.
I think back when my parents could not afford to buy me a $2 notebook in grade school. They did not make excuses, but told me that they would work to get it for me. They did not say that they were discriminated against, grew up poor, had very little education, but they always put their minds and bodies into it and worked and ended up providing a good life for my sister and I. My father said that he would not rust out, but would wear out. And he literally worked himself to death in quest to get all he could out of life. I remember he always wanted a motorcyle and he worked very hard and finally accomplished that at the age of 45. All of us can take a lesson from this. If you really want it, you will do whatever it takes to get it.
Did people like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or Oprah Winfrey give up and not work hard? No, they worked their tails off and became some of the most successful and prominent people in the world. Did Michael Jordan give up when he was cut from the team in high school? No he did not. Did Martin Luther King, Jr. give up? He gave his life, as did Malcolm X for what he believed in. Do you have passion for what you are doiing now? If you don't, please take a step back and reevaluate your place in your current vocation. Find your passion and you will be surprised about where you can go. But you must take that first step and begin this new journey.
