If you are like me, your entire life is on your computer. We use the computer for just about everything in our lives today. Some of us use the computer to make a living. We have files and data on our hard drives that we depend on to make money for our families. We use that data to bring security to our families. But, is that computer with all of its important data secure?
Many of us have lost our keys to our homes, offices or automobiles. Usually all we have to do is have the locks changed or go to the dealership to replace our car keys. This can be fairly expensive. The replacement of the key for my Nissan truck is around $300. How much would it cost to replace the data and files if your computer failed?
Many of us feel secure with our computers because they have never failed. Just think, in North America alone this week 140,000 computers will fail. Some of us feel secure with an external hard drive. I have spoken to several people who have them in their house and in the same room with their computer. What would happen if that computer was destroyed by fire or a pipe broke in your home and flooded the room. I just had a friend have his laptop stolen and it was not backed up. He lost everything. Your hard drive can be destroyed by viruses, fire, and water damage. Are your data files and precious memories worth protecting?
