What is Content Curation?

There is a lot of hype about “Content Curation” throughout the online world. What is Content Curation? Content curation is the art of finding, filtering and selecting the best digital media content to support your topic or interest. Most of us have been doing this for a long time if we ever had to write term papers, research reports, or writing papers in which other sources were used to support a subject. Fundamentally, a content curation project involves searching through the various digital content, selecting the best and then presenting it in a way that is easy to comprehend. It boils down to finding, organizing, presenting and/or sharing. Lots of software exists that can help with content curation and in some cases literally automates it. I have assembled a list of this software which basically automates one or all of the finding, organizing, presenting, and sharing tasks. Quite a few of these sites have blogs from which you can get better acquainted with the content curation process.
