Ok a paradigm shift is needed to understand why I make such a statement. However, this paradigm shift is only for network marketers and not the traditional marketer because they actually get paid to market products and services of their clients.
How do I know this, I used to market AT&T in Connecticut and Accent Energy in New York City and Westchester County, NY. I never had to pay either company to market what they wanted to sell. As a result I made enough money to move downtown in a nice one bed room apartment. But that isn’t what I want to talk about.
I noticed a trend occurring in the network marketing industry that isn’t sitting well with me. Now I have been in network marketing for a little while know, and I remember when paying a sign up fee was enough to get a free website to help market the products of a company. The only thing one had to purchase was the products and marketing material one needed. But here is what is going on now.
Companies are now expecting representative to pay monthly subscription for websites among other things like auto-responder and capture pages. Why am I bothered by this? Well if I’m going to pay for a website, capture pages and auto-responder, I should at least be able to design it and place my name and face on it.
Ok so that is my rant for today. What do you think? If you are already required to purchase on autoship, should you have to pay for the website also? I mean do these companies really need the money if they are debt free? That’s another topic for another time. Let me know what you think?
