I talked to people on a daily bases about how to build a business. It is interesting how many people think their opportunity is their business.

One of the things I learned based upon the phrase a used by managers and business owners which is "we need business." Now although a person who own a business, he does not consider owning a business, business. He understand business to be some form of interaction with another person and developing a relationship with that person which will make that person want to spend his money in that business. Anything less than a browser is not business.

We all have a website and our website attract window shopper several time or a hundred times a day. Should we count that as business? No. They never step foot in our store, sign up to get a look in side. If they walk in the store or sign up on our website to get a look inside then we can consider that business although it might not translate into income. We are getting people to come in.

When someone comes into our store or signs into our website, we are then able to communicate with them if they choose to do so. So if someone leaves a phone number and working email address we would approach them as if we were an associate in a shoe store. We might email them or call them and ask, ' is there anything I can help you with?' This is business.

So the concept of a business has to translate into actually interaction between you and a prospect. If all you have is an opportunity, product or service and no interaction with people in relation to what you have to offer , you don't have any business. No, people, no business.

So understand the difference between your opportunity, service and product and the interaction between you and prospects. It is your interaction that counts as business
