When someone asks you, “How are you today?”, what is your response? Maybe you automatically say “Fine!” or “Doing okay!”.
It never occurs to us that we might sound stressed or overworked or worried and that we are communicating negativity.
Imagine the impact your answer would have if it were, “I’m doing great!” or “Couldn’t be better!”.
Zig Ziglar once said, “ Postive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will.” As Zig said, positive thoughts make us optimistic about accomplishing just about anything.
Negative thinking is so destructive because it defeats our dreams, our goals and our purpose.
Being optimistic or positive doesn’t mean that we stick our heads in the sand and refuse to see the reality of our situation. It simply means that we choose to believe that we expect good things and good results from our efforts.
Self improvement books and tapes focus on speaking and thinking positively. One of my favorites is “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. When we believe our positive thoughts, we become dynamos. We can’t help but succeed if we remain optimistic and voice our positive thoughts and make them realities.
Think about your reaction to people who approach you everyday with their business opportunities. If you feel they are successful and doing well, you are more responsive to their presentation. You kind of feel that if they are that positive and successful that it might be a good opportunity. On the other hand, no one wants to join a loser who seems desperate, stressed and very negative.
On a recent Facebook Training I attended, our Mentor, said “I won’t friend anyone who isn’t smiling!” That is a pretty good reason to always project a smiling face, a happy outlook and a positive spirit.
