Affiliate Marketing: Put Your Products On Autopilot
You can earn residual or passive income through your own affiliate marketing products and services. In fact, I would highly recommend creating a recurring income business as soon as you reasonably can, because recurring income gives you leverage and it's another way of putting things on autopilot, depending on the nature of the affiliate marketing product or service.
For example, let's say that you decided to create a set of professional Web-site templates to sell as your first product. You decide to sell them for $39.95 as a one-time download. Web templates are certainly an in-demand product, but why stop there? After all, it's a good bet that many of your customers will also be looking for a place to host their Web sites.
You could make even more money per customer if you offered Web hosting as part of the total package. For instance, you could include a hosting account with each order of Web templates. Give your customer the first month of hosting for free, and then let them know they will be charged $15 per month for hosting after that.
This is real easy to do if you purchase what is known as a "reseller" account with a good Web-hosting company. Many of these companies will allow you to rebrand the look and feel of the payment and hosting interface so that it looks like you're running your very own hosting company.
This is just an example to get you thinking about some possibilities. The point is for you to create a business where you get to change the customer on a regular basis for an ongoing service. I wouldn't recommend technical services (like Web hosting) to most newbies, though.
Affiliate Marketing: Information-Based Membership Site.
Here are some of the products and services offered under this affilaite marketing model:
•Newsletters, e-zines, magazines, newspapers, journals, etc.
•How-to-content sites
•Resale rights sites
•Database services (lists of wholesalers, public-records searches, research databases, etc.)
•Multimedia content and services (dating sites, clipart or royalty-free images, music downloads, ringtones, screensavers, movie rentals, etc.)
•Product of the month: products delivered monthly by subscription. Typically includes things like chocolate coffee, general groceries, seeds, small clothing items, etc.
Affiliate Marketing: Subscription/Membership Model
These are the minimum requirements for an affiliate marketing subscription/membership business model:
•Your own Web site
•A payment processor with the ability to receive recurring payments
•The ability to limit access to content/scripts to generate usernames/passwords and guard access to members' areas
•Access to enough content and/or products to maintain membership benefits.
