If the extent of your blogging is posting your opportunity or your business with hopes of drawing in hundreds of visitors, then you're already dead in the water. That is not the optional way to profit from your blog. The Internet is already teeming with tons of advertisements for the same opportunities and services you may be offering. The key is to separate your opportunity from all the rest to keep visitors coming back to your blog. Your blog should be a platform to give knowledgeable, information and provide value to your prospective readers. If you're providing an opportunity on your site connect it with your blog, and don't just post a meager advertising blurb.

What you're doing is providing your opinions for your potential customers about the opportunity and the value you can present them with. At this point you will have established yourself as an expert in your niche. This can also mean that your blog is now getting free advertising within the blogging community. I don't think you need me to remind you how valuable this can be for your blog's traffic.
