While the town I live in was declared a state of emergency yesterday I was having a state of emergency of my own.
I still can't believe what happened to our yard! One of my hobbies is working in my flower gardens. So, yesterday I decide to go out and clean up my gardens, but first I look at the weather channel and it said a 30% chance of showers today.
I go out work 2 hours in the gardens cutting off dead flowers, tying things up and giving everything a good soaking. I come in the house and 2 hours later I hear it raining outside I look out in my backyard and the entire yard is covered in water. A few minutes later I look out and notice 2 black pots that I had flowers in floating in the middle of the yard.
Then I see the wooden bridge that goes over a small brook is floating away coming towards the house. By the time the rain stopped 1½ hours later we had 5 inches of water in the whole back yard.
Most of the flowers were covered with water and the fish from our pond were swimming in the yard. I just couldn't believe my eyes!
We did manage to catch all the fish, but my flowers not so lucky!

 | | Wow! What a story! You sure turned it into something very exciting, but for you - living it - I know it was terrible! I didn't listen to the news today, so I knew nothing about the storm you had. Has the "lake" drained off yet? Is any of your garden salvageable? |
| | | | | Sorry to hear that Kathy. All your hard work. Hopefully the rain did not damage everything. |

| | | | | Oh gosh! Yes, send some rain this way. Oklahoma hasn't seen any in ages. |

| | | | | Pass some of the rain to the midwest. |
| | | | | Hope things are returning to normal there - we really could use the rain out here in New Mexico so if you have any pull with the big guy - maybe a "rediirect"? |
| | | | | Great Information And Thank You Very Much.... |
