Here it is the end of July so I sat down and reviewed where I was in achieving my 2012 goals.
Have you done that?
Are you meeting your 2012 goals? If not, do you need to make some changes?
What are you going to do next?
I assessed where I was compared to the goals I set in the baginning of 2012 and changed some things so that I'll finish the year with a strong push.
Do you need to do that?
What we have done up until this time can't be changed. It's set in stone. But, looking at the numbers we can begin to focus on a stretegy to improve our performance for the rest of the year.
Here's some of the evaluation I did and hope that it will help you to assess what you need to do.
** Is what I'm doing still valid? Am I spending too much time in areas that are getting mediocre results. Where could I better spend my time.
** Has the market changed and is there competition for my product or service that wasn't there at the beginning of the year? Are they a threat to my efforts and do I ned to re-evaluate my marketing strategies?
** Am I still relevant to my target audience or do I need to change my marketing strategies? Should I consider diversifying and adding an opportunity to my portfolio? ** Did I spend my advertising dollars effectively? Could I have spent my time and money elsewhere and gotten better results? Am I on budget?
** Am I still passionate about what I'm doing and do I see doing this for the foreseeable future? Life is too short to pursue something you don't love doing. Should I consider looking for a different opportunity?
When I was in the corporate world, we laid out a 5 year plan, that we reviewed every six months. It made sense to stay on track or adjust our projections and strategies.
Is it time for you to look at where you've been so you can decide where to go for the rest of the year?

| | | | | Great blog, Len. Yes, it's a good idea to make long term plans and review and realign. For networkers maybe a one year plan may be more manageable. Thanks for sharing. |
