Network Marketing or Affiliate Markeing Which Model Is Best For You?

Are you trying to decide on a business model and are not sure which would be a better match?

Today I am going to focus on the similarities and differences between Affiliate Marketing and Network Marketing. Both of these business models can be run from pretty much anywhere in the world because all you really need is a computer with a high speed internet connection.

In both cases you are representing product lines that you have not created or invented. Customer service issues are handled by the owner of the company or his team of customer service agents. I would pay very close attention to this. If the company represent does not have a good reputation and their products are not high quality there will be alot of chargebacks, customers will stop ordering and you will lose commissions.

Affiliate Marketers and Network Marketers promote and distribute both physical products and services. A difference here is that affiliate marketers generally don't have to subscribe to an autoship program. I still think it is important to not promote products that you have not or do not use yourself.  I would not just take the word of someone else that a product is good or not unless I knew them extremely well. The KNOW, LIKE and TRUST factor is huge.

Party plans and hotel meetings are another key difference between network marketing or directing sales companies and affiliate marketing.  Affiliate marketers do not promote products or services other than online. In recent years, however, it is less necessary for network marketers to promote their products using traditional methods. More on that later.

The team building aspect of network marketing is another key difference from affiliate marketing. In general affiliate marketers don't build a team of other affiliates. There are affiliate marketing programs that are more than one tier level but I haven't found that they are common.

It used to be that affiliate marketers sat behind a computer screen and just promoted products anonymously. That has changed a great deal over the years and it is a good thing too. It is important to know from whom you are buying an information product or software or service. This is another area where the lines between affiliate marketing and network marketing are increasingly blurred.

Even if you are building a business online you still need to know how to talk to people. This is where a method of marketing comes in that I have been learning about over the past year. It is called Attraction Marketing. It is great for network marketers who struggle with the old school traditional prospecting and recruiting methods. You know what those are, right? Chasing down family and friends to beg them to join your business or buy your products or talking to anyone and everyone in public within three feet because they are all your prospects and potential team members are two tactics that come to my mind right away.  Attraction Marketing pretty much eliminates the need for you to speak to people who are not interested in what you have to offer and instead teaches you how to attract plenty of people who are the perfect customer or team member for you. How would it look for you if you were spending time talking only to those people who are a perfect match to what you are offering?
