There are so many tools out there for all of us to use, but which is the most valuable? No, it is not an email autoresponder, nor is it the latest and greatest text campaign. And it is not a new software program that puts your business on autopilot. The most valuable tool that you have is an old, trusted and proven one that we all have and that is the PHONE!
This business is built on personal relationships. So how personal can you get in an email, a text or a website without speaking with that person? The answer is not very personal at all!
Here is a great personal example of how I learned how powerful the phone can be. I was referred to someone who had heard of my company and had actually been in contact with another rep. That rep had never called this person but instead relied on emails and the website to give them the info that they were looking for. I had this persons number so I gave her a call to help her with any questions that she may have, but to also start to build a personal relationship. Needless to say, we spoke for about an hour that first call, with only about 10 minutes dedicated to her questions about the business. This resulted in her enrolling with me in our company and becoming a very successful rep, which really helped my business! (For those wondering if I had poached her, I had spoken with her initial contact about her wanting to enroll with me, and they were fine with it. In fact, they did not even know who I was talking about! They ended up with another company a few weeks later.)
So, make sure you are good on the phone and use it as much as possible. There is a reason I have unlimited minutes!
