My Rant As A Senior White Woman & An American Citizen

What do you do when you see injustices growing by leaps & bounds, but you feel totally helpless to do anything about it because where I come from old folks are just tolerated like a necessary inconvenience... People don't listen because they already seem to think they know it all with their narrow viewpoints about life... To think I used to be like that until I moved from there... Those people never expose themselves to the fact that just maybe there might be other people who have much broader experiences in this world that have expanded their views...

I have always held a reverence for our Native Americans because of the theft of their land...  I have many friends of Indian descent online & shudder to think if only we had learned something from them about being good stewards of the land we wouldn't bear the resposibility for it's destruction these days...  Here's what's happening lately...  The authorities wielding those hoses aimed at those people were doing so in freezing weather...  That sounds like cruel & inhumane punishment to me for people who were never even charged with a crime...  See for yourself...

I've seen tunnel vision develop at it's worst, all in the name of religious conservatism... I never realized just what that meant until I moved away from it... I almost became another casualty of that movement, but I couldn't let that happen so I made the great escape... I have a very strong belief in God, the Bible & consider myself to be spiritual instead of religious... I'm sure God understands me because, after all, He created me...

I don't intentionally mean to offend anyone who reads this, but if the shoe fits, wear it... In a few weeks I'll be 78 years old & I've paid attention to what has been growing in this country like a cancer... Prejudice, Bigotry, Racism & all the other 'tries & 'isms that fit with them... Those are the big three... I have never understood why so many white people think we are so superior to people with skins of many other colors... The amount of pigmentation has nothing to do with intelligence or the ability to learn... Common courtesy has all but disappeared in our every day lives... Tolerance of our differences, if we treated one another with respect instead of fear, it would go a long way to promote empathy & compassion... Having grown up in an all white neighborhood I do know it was because of my Sunday School lessons that I learned we are all equal in God's eyes... We are one... God doesn't take preference one over another because of our skin color... He also didn't create this world with borders... All borders do is create wars... I'm so grateful I learned these things at such a young age & that has always stayed with me & grown all these years...

Now we are in an age where corruption & greed are literally destroying our beautiful world, all the living things God put in it & it's like we're in a race to see how fast we can even destroy ourselves all for the sake of money, greed & power...

I'm grateful for the internet because that's where I earned what I consider to be my adaptation of a Master's Degree & beyond... My learning skills have been in the form of a lifelong course and I am my own instructor... When I don't know something I'm not afraid to pick up a book & if I don't find the answer I'm looking for I'm not afraid to ask someone... My favorite authors are, Napoleon Hill, Dr. Robert Schuller & Emmet Fox for they helped me overcome many adversities in my life... I've met many people online from all over the world, from many different cultures & I pride myself in that... Each one is someone special to me because I've learned something unique from each of them... I don't know how, but from an early age I learned to appreciate black music, jazz & R&B... It has become my passion today...  I enjoy it so much, sometimes I get goosebumps just listening to it... Once again I hope I don't offend anyone but I think Michael Jackson was ahead of his time...  I respect his God given talent...  He was gone too soon...  I'll close with this prayer for every living thing...
