I think tragedy can be like a double edged sword…  I watched a couple of 911 documentaries yesterday because I don’t ever want to forget those innocent people who died in those attacks…  Every year I learn something new…

I watched one that interviewed some of the survivors & listened to them as they described their ordeals…  Everyone in this country was so stunned by the absolute cruelty involved in those attacks… The reason I thought of the double edged sword is because of what else it brought to those involved…  When tragedy strikes it presents us with the opportunity to care for one another… All at once those prejudices that divide us & consume our very souls seems to just fade away in all that dust, death & destruction…

Instances like that is what brings out the humanity in us just the way God intended us to be…  It puts a softness in our hearts we call empathy that is meant to be there all the time… I don’t understand why we try to hide that emotion when it brings out such beauty in us…  I believe God looks upon that as our gift to Him & it pleases Him… Maybe that’s why He allows such horrible things to take place… Maybe He just enjoys being a little selfish occasionally… Somehow that seems to make it up to Him for the accumulation of all our everyday sins… Anyway that’s how I prefer to see it in my mind… My perspectacles provide me with a little different angle on the way I perceive things…

 God Bless America!
