Seniorisms by LMW, You've Got To Accentuate The Positive!

A positive mind finds a way it can be done. A negative mind looks for all the ways it can’t be done.  Napoleon Hill...

Someone once said, “There are no truths; there are only perceptions of truth.” Whether or not you accept this statement, whatever you believe to be true will become your reality. Your subconscious mind will believe anything you tell it — if you repeat the words often and with conviction. When you are faced with a daunting task that you’ve never attempted before, focus on the potential for success, not on the possibilities for failure. Break the job down into smaller elements and tackle each one separately. The only difference between success and failure in any job is your attitude toward it.

I am a self taught award winning clown…  I used this concept when I first got the idea… I needed a project when I was in AA… I’ve loved bikes all my life so when I found a scaled down replica of an 1880 Columbia Boneshaker I knew I had to have it…  Long story short, the bike was perfect for me… Now I had to find a way to show it off… Parades! Clowns! I needed to find out how I could become a clown… Library!  I got two books that gave me the basics… The rest is history! The first time I put on makeup was on TV having been invited by one of the clown groups… I was terrified because I didn’t know what I was doing…  Then I reasoned, “What woman doesn’t know how to put on makeup? The type of clown I wanted to be was an easy fix for a costume, the biggest wildest pair of men’s pants at the local thrift store… I had a friend who was a seamstress who helped me with them…  I lived in an apartment by myself & it was heading into the Christmas season… Instead of decorating my apartment I spent $75 on red, green & gold Christmas garland, wound it through the spokes, around the frame, put Holiday pinwheels on the ends of my handle grips, one straight up in the middle of the handlebar, added an oogah horn, I was now good to go…  Practice, practice, practice… With each parade I got better & better until I finally won best clown entry as a solo act in the second largest parade in our county… Napoleon Hill taught me about enthusiasm which was the reason I won that award…

Re-Pete of St. Pte

Re-Pete of St. Pete

Re-Pete of St. Pete

It was just a trophy, but to me it symbolizes my accomplishment… From nothing I had created something… For me it turned Impossible into I M Possible! That little trophy is a reminder that I can accomplish anything if I have the burning desire to do so…

Signing off 'til next time this is,
