Here are the building blocks to achieve success with your online business!
You have joined the ever growing number of folks that are realizing that it IS possible to make money online ... congratulations! NOW what do you do?
Hopefully you have been able to determine a product/service that you are truly passionate about how it benefits others. I would also recommend that whatever area you choose that you factor in true mass appeal. Niche markets require a greater decree of identifying and attracting a targeted audience, since one of the advantages of working online is the ability to connect with virtually anyone on a global basis, it makes sense to me to offer a product/service that has universal appeal.
Trends are very important. If you can identify a major developing trend and align yourself with a company that is competitive in growing its market share then your efforts can be well rewarded. Mr. Tim Sales has done a short video on the importance of this aspect of being successful in business that you can view here: www.imfaceplate.com/LonnieG and then click the Spotlight section and select ==> Make Money By Being In Front Of Large Trends!
Progress comes from putting the building blocks into place so that they form the ultimate structure that you desire. You are making good progress having identified what it is that you want to do!
The next building blocks can seem so obvious to many that they are often not discussed and therefore many people do not benefit in ways that are easily available to them. You have to have to utilize basic services to successfully operate an online business. Here are some of them:
> Computer > Internet service provider connection (ISP) > Browser > Website > Contact management system (capture page, autoresponder) > Communication tools (telephone, Skype or other VOIP service, e-mail, instant messenger) > Promotional resources (ads, social networking, article marketing, blogging, etc.) > Support (training, development, guidance, mentoring, systematic duplication, etc.)
While it might be possible to get all of those essential services from a single source most of us tend to pick and choose the various service providers we like best and then weave them together to form an integrated and operational business platform.
For example, I rely on a desktop computer with a Windows operating system AND a Mac laptop AND an iPad AND an iPhone combined with Skype and GoogleVoice. There are three service providers for the connectivity of all those devices. And yet they are woven together in such a way as to be virtually seamless. It works very, very well for me.
The same is true of the blending of my internet service with website hosting and contact management so that as people visit my websites I can assist them in getting the information and service they are seeking.
Advertising is maybe one of the most complicated aspects that many of us work on. It is crucial to generate a high volume of target traffic to your website(s). Outright purchase of advertising can be a very big chunk of your total operating budget, so it is important to get good value for those budgeted dollars (or whatever currency you are using!).
Sources like IBOToolbox help a lot with getting maximum value and building traffic for your program. IBOToolbox combined with just a few select other promotional resources allows me to connect with the right folks for building my business.
Since my business is based on helping people enjoy a better computer and internet experience I hope you will let me know if I can assist you in putting in place the right building blocks to construct the business platform for achieving success in your business.
Much success to you.

 | | Excellent blog as always, Lonnie. Building blocks is a good way to describe an online business because the basics need to be in place to lay a foundation and simple enough for beginners to do. |
| | | | | Lonnie this is an excellent breakdown of the "building blocks" to developing and building an Internet business. Thank you for being so thorough. |
| | | | | We find what you are saying is true. Our business as well as the corporation incorporate services in and from several countries. Between the three in the United States alone there are 8 computers and a smart phone. Running two houses on top of this keep us all busy. In the past 48 hours two businesses have asked us to become part of their business which will test us to our limits. |
| | | | | Great article Lonnie, thanks for sharing the various items of a successful business and how it is you fit into that structure. TB&L my friend |
