When we hear the term "Energy Deregulation" most of us skip over it, mostly because we really don't know what it is or what it means.
Energy Deregulation is short for "competition in the energy market." At one time we didn't have a choice of who we wanted to supply our electricity and or gas to our home or business. Through energy deregulation 18 states now give people the opportunity to choose and other states are following.
Without deregulation you were forced to pay whatever your company charged whether you liked it or not but because of deregulation there is competition and you can shop for the lowest rates.
Once a state decides if they want to deregulate then how do you choose who you want to go with? This is where you do your research. Ask around and search on the internet. Don't settle for any one company before checking them out first. Here are a few questions to keep in mind.
1) How long has the company been in business
2) How do they market their business
3) How do they rate
4) Where do they stand with the BBB
I have been involved with energy deregulation for a few years now and found that it is the perfect business for anyone.
