BRANDING YOURSELF

Welcome to the training module on branding and promoting yourself as a leader in the home business industry.
This module could be one of the most valuable modules in Make Money or Make Excuses.
I say that for the following reasons.

First I want you to think about the leaders you know about on the internet and in your past and present uplines. These men and women consistently invest time money and resources in promoting themselves as leaders in the home business industry. In addition these people also have many other people promoting them in the industry. Those people are typically in the leader’s downline.


Next, this activity just makes sense. Anything you can do to make the job of recruiting and building a profitable sales and marketing organization easier should be done. Branding yourself as a leader in our industry will ultimately position you to start receiving phones calls from people you’ve never met, never spoke to and these people will call to tell you they want to join your business.

This kind of thing will not happen everyday but it will happen a few times a month if you study this module and apply what I’m teaching in this module.

Before I discuss How to do this I want to say this. Branding yourself as a leader has to start now there is no good reason for you to delay the marketing of yourself. In addition plan to continue your branding activities for as long as you’re in business. Do not plan to spend a couple of hours once or twice promoting yourself and quit if you don’t see immediate results. You can and will enjoy short term benefits but think long term on this.

In fact in the short term when you’re talking to a prospect about joining you in business you will have the ability to tell that prospect that as a part of tier due diligence they should check out the company and yourself.

You can refer the prospect to your “whoisyourname.com” website or after your marketing efforts mature you can tell your prospects to google you on the internet.
This will be a powerful tool for building credibility with your prospects.

Before we get into how to promote and brand yourself lets talk more about why you should brand yourself. As you know from other training modules in Make Money or Make Excuses, I always try to sell you on the importance of using what I teach in the course. I believe that a good understanding of a technique will increase the likelihood of the student implementing the training.

So let’s begin

I want to start with a discussion outlining what the 95% of are doing out there on the internet and why it’s the wrong approach to building a business online.
In fact as you hear this you will quickly realize that you have been doing exactly what you should not be doing.

Here it is.

Think about Joe Marketer starts a home business with XYZ Nutrition, they have a hot new nutrition drink that helps you live to be 200 years old.
Joe, signs up gets his company affiliate website and starts promoting the company affiliate website. That website says a lot of great things about XYZ Nutriton and that hot nutrition drink. But says little or nothing about Joe.
Next Joe buys leads and starts calling those lead prospects to invite them to learn all about XYZ company. Joe tells the prospect all about the company, the compensation plan, the products and to build credibility Joe also tells the prospect about his upline Bill Heavy Hitter who is making $100,000 a month with the opportunity.

Folks before I knew better I used to do the same thing and I know that a lot of you hearing this have done it also.

Lets look at what’s wrong with this approach.

XYZ Nutrition is getting a lot of free press on Joe’s dime. Joe is investing his money, time and resources building credibility getting publicity for XYZ nutrition. But Joe has done nothing to build his credibility.
Now, some of you might say whats wrong with that. If you’re working with a company you have to promote that company and its products.

Folks, it’s your business and you’re building your network. If XYZ company goes south, your network will follow you to the next company. If you have Branded yourself.
