The Seventh Step toward Riches

Hill tells us that Decision is the opposite to procrastination, he also tells us that where procrastination is present riches very rarely are achieved. If we procrastinate on a dream or idea we must also be careful not to tell others about it, for if we procrastinate someone else will action the idea and make the riches.

In a previous lesson I looked up the Oxford Dictionary definition of Decision, for this lesson I went on line and found the following definition “the act of or need for making up one's mind:” This fits in well with what Hill is telling us.

Henry Ford was often thought of as an obstinate man since like other people of wealth he was in the habit of making decisions quickly and changing them rarely. Take his decision to continue the manufacturing the original design of the ugly model ‘T’ ford motor car against public opinion and the advice of his advisors. His definite decision not to change the design made him a fortune.

Too often our decisions are based on opinion and not on facts. Opinion does not always take into account all the known facts, proven principles and trends. Opinions usually introduce negative influences into our decisions particularly in the case of businesses. The well meaning advise from friends and family, which is generally base on ‘opinion’ can destroy one confidence and self esteem. I know I suffered this when I started in MLM, I was told ‘you will never succeed, you know nothing about selling”.

Fortunately I did not listen and initially was successful, but was chasing numbers and not relationship building with customers and distributors. It was not until I read STS that I finally realized that I need to change my whole approach to the Business and made a decision to change and learn from those who were more versed in the MLM Business and successful.

I did not follow through and failed to use the proven system thinking that I could take short cuts and speed up progress. It does not work; each step must be completed before proceeding to the next. Self talk becomes crucial and not just a few times but close to 1000 times per day to really change our mind set from negative to positive. I never did Activity Reports, how can people help you if they do not have the facts.

Towards the end of last year I made a DECISION to be all in, I was not previously, this meaning doing self talk religiously daily, submitting Activity Reports, together with admitting that I need help to obtain the Specialized Knowledge to apply modern technology to my advertising. The 30 Day Mental Cleanse is another area where I had to change my thinking. I had to produce lessons, not just before the call, but well in advance. I had to read as many lessons as possible before the call and most importantly speak up on the Calls, for my insight could assist someone else who is struggling. I now attend as many of the calls as possible, normally all ten, the only one I general miss is the 9.00pm Saturday night call since due to the time differences I am usually in church. I do however listen to the recording or the back office recording.

I am finding that I am becoming more organized and thanks to Magi’s lesson on ‘organized planning’ I have changed several of my office procedures and also re-organized my desk.
