CHAPTER 7

ORGANIZED PLANNING: THE CRYSTALLIZATION OF DESIRE INTO ACTION

The Sixth Step toward Riches

In the previous chapters we have had a dream which when mixed with human emotion transforms to a passionate desire. Add faith into the equation, this ensures that our passionate desire will be achieved, for by auto-suggestion (self talk), we inform the universe that this is what we require to be delivered in a time frame. To this we added two important ingredients, Knowledge, both synthetic and specialized and also imagination. We now have the ingredients to achieve our goal (dream).

How do we draw these all together, organized planning. Consider a simple example, suppose we wish to make a cake. Firstly we check whether we have all the necessary ingredients, if we don’t we make a shopping list and go and purchase the missing ingredients. We ensure that we have all the necessary utensils and pans for weighing, blending and baking. The initial planning, next stage is the planning of the weighing and blending of the ingredients to ensure the correct consistency of the mixture for baking. Finally the baking stage where the plan is to ensure the correct oven temperature is reached before the cake mixture, in its tin, is placed in the oven for a predetermine (planned) time, after which it is tested to ensure correct cooking or whether additional time is required.

This simple example only requires the resources of a single person. However more complex examples require additional labor because no one person has all the knowledge necessary to carry out all of the tasks. A master mind group needs to be formed. Now there has to be an overall leader or coordinator to oversee the workings of the single master mind or many master mind groups for large and complex projects.

Hill lists the major attributes of leadership, Unwavering Courage, Self Control, a Keen Sense of Justice, Definiteness of Decision, Definiteness of Plans, The habit of Doing More than Paid For, a Pleasing Personality, Sympathy and Understanding, Mastery of Detail, Willingness to Assume Full Responsibility and being Cooperative at all times with every member of the overall Project Team. Such a leader has to ensure all aspects of the Project with one essential ingredient, complete harmony, at all times, between each and every one of the Project Team (Master Mind Group). Any disharmony within the group must be removed immediately and if necessary replacement of one or more members.

Hill lists two forms of leadership, by Force or Consent. The leadership by force is from the old school and very much frowned upon in management circles today. Today’s leaders, lead by example and don’t require their followers to undertake tasks that they would not do themselves.

The ten major causes of failures in leadership are stated as, Inability to Organize Detail, Unwillingness to Render Humble Service, Expectation of Pay for What They “Know’ instead of What They Do with that Which They Know, Fear of Competition from Followers, Lack of Imagination, Selfishness, Intemperance, Disloyalty, Emphasis of the “Authority” of Leadership and Emphasis of Title. I have experienced this type of leadership and in every case the overall result has been the same, extensions of time, poor quality of work, blow-out of the bottom line, just to mention a few. Under such leadership there is normally disharmony within the overall group.

An organized plan under good leadership moves smoothly but there is the constant need for consultation and this should occur at least once a week more often possibly in the early stages of a large project such as a housing or apartment development. Here many external organizations need to be consulted to obtain various planning and construction approvals prior to any actual design work can be undertaken. Here the Leader requires personal with specialized knowledge of local laws and also what is required to meet conservation and environmental requirements.

Once these initial approvals have been obtained the Leader will look to reform his master mind group, whilst retain a few members of the original as advisers, the new group will be professionals, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, lawyers, etc. Within this overall Master Mind will be smaller and more specialized master mind groups all report on a regular basis to the Main Master Mind Group.

This procedure continues through the other Phases, of costing, financing, construction. Each phase requires a new master mind group often with subgroups, all must work in harmony under the one overall leader. Organized planning is essential to ensure the overall harmony and coordination of each phase.

These two examples demonstrate the simple and complex need for planning, for without it the goals will only meet with failure. It is the same in our network marketing business. We need to plan our various Phases and if any phase does not give the required outcome then with consultation it may need modification or a new plan.

We cannot build our network marketing business in isolation and Mentoring for Free has a proven and organized system by which people can obtain the necessary skills and personal development to ensure they become professional network marketers along with improving their own personal characteristics.
