Is All-inclusive pricing right for you?
I do a lot of canvassing and one of my pet peeves is seeing all inclusive pricing on accounts using less than 100m KWH annually.
Let me explain.
Energy only pricing means you pay your transmission costs and your energy price changes..
All inclusive pricing means you are paying one price for you energy and transmission cost.
For example let’s assume
All inclusive price of 6 cents
Energy only price of 4 cents
Transmission cost of .oo5 per KWH
Total KWH use 120m annually or 10,000 a month
With and Energy only price you would pay $400 plus a $50 transmission cost for a total of $450
With an all inclusive price you would pay $600 a month which includes the $50 transmission cost.
As you can see you are better off with an energy only price for this size account.
Of course this is only an example and each account is different so a review of your statement is required to make the right recommendation.
