The Do Not Call Registry That Doesn’t Work

Some years ago, the government devised this program called Do Not Call Registry. This program was setup so that people could add their phone numbers to the list and not have to worry about telemarketers or auto dialers calling you constantly. Well, it doesn’t look like its working anymore. It seems even though you may tell whoever is calling you that said person is not at your number, that is the incentive for them to call several times a day, 7 days a week. What is with them? You would think that after a while, if the number is not being answered, they would stop calling or take your number out of the auto dialer.
Although you may send in a complaint to said Government, nothing is ever done about all the annoying and irritating calls. If you never receive any calls from people you want to hear from, don’t worry your phone still works because telemarketers and the auto dialers will let you know your phone still works by the constant calls. Where is the relief? I found mine by getting a call blocker.

| | |  | | Mary, my experience in Canada is that the calls have subsided quite substantially. Those that do get through are reminded by me that they are facing a $5,000.00 fine and they tend to disappear! I'm off to the bird with this one. :) |
