We all know that when it comes to internet marketing for your business, one area of focus is driving traffic to your website. Additionally, most marketers and website owners want to keep track of how many unique visitors and hopefully new customers they are receiving. However, one thing most people don't think about is following up with the customers and site visitors they already have. In fact, follow-up marketing can be fundamental to your business's success. Studies show that email marketing can increase revenue and prevent the loss of 64% of your sales. You see, it is generally easier to sell to existing customers than it is to find new customers. That being said, email marketing becomes a hugely powerful marketing tool for business owners.

When’s the last time you checked your email? If you’re a typical person, you download new email marketing at least two times per day. For business owners, email is an effective way to stay in touch with and communicate with your customers. This article contains some of the most important and useful email promoting tips.



Try to make your email as personal as possible. Like all marketing, customers are more likely to sign up for those who add a personal touch. For instance, if you are aware of the reason that the person decided to join your email list, mention that reason when you write the email.

Try using different techniques when you are marketing via email. Books are available in libraries and online. Classes and workshops may be available locally as well, and it would be beneficial for you to attend some of these.
Ask permission before sending emails to customers. Emails that are not wanted are likely to be regarded as spam, and people will tend to delete them or ignore them without caring about the content. ISP policy violations may also occur if you send mass emails to people who don’t want them.

Make sure you only email subscribers who give you permission to do so. If you spam your customers you will find that you will never be taken seriously. You could lose customers and get reported for sending unwanted emails.
A major holiday is usually not the time for an important marketing campaign. Most people will be busy celebrating and will not check their emails until they go back to work. There are obviously exceptions to this rule. These may include emails concerning Black Friday deals or other campaigns based on occasions.

Ask your customers for expressed permission if you want to send them email messages. If you are not authorized to send them email, your customers will quickly lose faith in your business, which ends up giving your company a bad name. Many ISPs will put you on a blacklist for following inappropriate email etiquette. This could seriously undermine your efforts and strategy.
