Creating Quality Website Content

Published on 1/9/2017
For additional information  Click Here

Today you are going to be taking your first leap towards creating content. Content is going to be the "meat" of your site. Content will be the difference between getting lots of traffic becoming an authoritative site, and you not seeing much in the way of results.

Plain and simple, content leads to rankings in search engines and rankings are going to lead to your website traffic and revenue!

Google, BING, & Yahoo LOVE Content!

These are the top 3 search engines and make up over 98% of searches online. Want to know how you can leverage these search engines and get mad traffic to your site?

The answer is: Quality content.

The most important aspect of any content, whether it is text or video is that it is created with the reader in mind. Real people are reading this content so you want to deliver something that is relevant and interesting. When writing content you want to keep in mind that you are writing it for people, not just for Search Engines :)

Being original, candid, and building your personal brand is the best way to succeed within any niche, so please make sure you do put some effort into creating your own content. There is nothing wrong with getting some concepts or ideas from elsewhere to incorporate in your page as this will save you time. Refrain however, from copying and pasting other people's work as you will lose ANY chance of ranking if you have duplicate content on your site.

As the person in charge of a website, we need to understand one critical element. We are creating our website for PEOPLE.

People are going to be navigating on our website, they are going to be reading our content, and they are going to be buying from us based on our recommendations. They are going to be engaging in discussions, they are going to be sharing our content on social networks, and they are going to be trusting us and our brand.

Don’t lose sight of this, I see it all the time where people get so lost in the process of what they are doing that they dehumanize their website to the point where no visitor would get any value. It is all about the EXPERIENCE you create.

And this experience all starts with the website framework, which in simple terms, simple means the core pages on your website and your navigation which we are going to be starting the creation of today.

Before you get started, I have created a walk-through video that corresponds with this lesson. Click play to watch it below.

Task 1: Create Your “About Me” Page

Your next task is simply to create an About Me page. This page can evolve over time so please do not try to perfect it now. You ideally want this page to accomplish the following:

(1) Connect with your audience by offering a relevant story
(2) Have a personal image of you or at the very least, something relevant
(3) Tell them why you are interested in helping them in your respective niche
(4) Offer them help if they have any questions or comments

You are likely seeing a theme here. Relevance! Although your page is about you, it is really about your audience and how you can connect with them.

It is like walking into a discussion with someone you have never met and having something in common with them. You are much more likely to hit it off. If you can create this connection of similarities, they will like and you trust your opinions and recommendations much more.

Here is the About Me page that I created on my website:

Task 2: Create Your “Privacy Policy” Page

Your last task today is to create your Privacy Policy page on your site. This is a very standard page that you need to have, but it isn’t really going to serve any tangible purpose in terms of revenue you will be generating from your site going forward. It is just a good idea to have one.

Here is what a Privacy Policy page serves (from wikipedia.org).

“Privacy policy is a statement or a legal document (privacy law) that discloses some or all of the ways a party gathers, uses, discloses and manages a customer or client's data.”

So in essence, it tells your visitors how you are going to use their data. Although people will likely never read this, it is a requirement to have on your website for many affiliate programs, many PPC networks, and advertising programs like Google Adsense.

Below I have included an example privacy policy that you can use. Replace your own website URL with the YOURWEBSITE.com text. In this example, I would replace my URL:

howtolosebellyfatfast.siterubix.com

...with YOURWEBSITE.com.

Here is the example privacy policy:

Here is what my Privacy Policy page looks like:

==> http://howtolosebellyfatfast.siterubix.com/privacy-policy

You can also do a Google search for “sample privacy policy” or “free privacy policy generator” as there are many that are available for free.

After your create this page, Publish it. Make sure you make it so that it is not visible within Google and does not get indexed and you can manage this within the page settings below the editor (as described in video).
