According to Martha Elena Violante, In the February 22, 2012 edition of the magazine Alto Nivel, Women face a professional limit when it comes to rising to top management positions that are known as a "glass ceiling".

" And this is spite of the fact that every day they occupy more middle management positions, and the companies realize the great benefits and brilliant contributions that feminine thought brings to their business," said Yaarit Silverstone, Director of Human Capital and Organizational Effectiveness of Accenture.

Nowadays, out of one hundred entrepreneurs listed in Forbes Magazine, Only nine of them are women. According to the leadership, this is because women are less firm than men, and instead of fighting for a specific job position, they take the positions they are given. Silverstone affirms that the opportunity that women have occupied a high management position varies depending on the culture. In China, there are many senior executives, but Latin American still faces a culture of profound machismo.

"Nevertheless, the trend is that more and more women participating in the world of business. In Africa and Latin America, there are many female entrepreneurs who get their families out of poverty by having their own business and participating deeply in the economy", according to the leadership in an interview for Alto Nivel.

Entrepreneurship has become the best tool for modern women when it comes to directing a company. Starting up a company represents many obstacles, regardless of the gender of an entrepreneur. Nevertheless, there are some examples of women who have been able to break the barriers of gender and the glass ceiling to transform certain industries.

The website known as lists 10 of the most successful women entrepreneurs from the past and the present. These serve as excellent sources of inspiration for those women who are looking to get into the corporate world.
