Steve Jobs is like a kid in a candy store as he gives us a quick 4 minute tour in the video below for the grand opening of the first Apple retail store in 2001. If you don't know what Apple's Genius Bar is--then this video is a must see. Steve is so excited.
Apple announced the opening of a line of Apple retail stores in 2001, to be located throughout the major U.S. computer buying markets. The stores were designed for two primary purposes: to stem the tide of Apple's declining share of the computer market as well as a response to poor marketing of Apple products at third-party retail outlets
Ten years later; more people now visit Apple's 326 stores (domestic and international) in a single quarter than the 60 million who visited Walt Disney Co.'s four biggest theme parks last year, according to data from Apple and the Themed Entertainment Association. Apple's annual retail sales per square foot have soared to $4,406—excluding online sales, according to investment bank Needham & Co.

Add in online sales, which include iTunes, and the number jumps to $5,914. That's far higher than the sales per square foot and online sales of jeweler Tiffany & Co. ($3,070), luxury retailer Coach Inc. ($1,776), and electronics retailer Best Buy Co. ($880), according to estimates.
