The Ed Clark Retrospective exhibition currently featured at The N'Namdi Center for Contemporary Art presents over 60 years of innovative paintings. Ed Clark's long career boasts prestigious collections around the world. He has received international accolades for over five decades, and his awards include the National Endowment for the Arts; the Prix d'Othon Friez, Musee du Louvre, Paris, France; the Adolph Gottlieb Award; and the Congressional Achievement Award. He is the first painter credited with working on a shaped canvas, an innovation that influenced contemporary art through the 1950s and 1960s. He is also known for his powerful push-broom brush stroke, large-scale canvases, and explosive use of color.
