Associates are having their accounts closed amazon
VISIT WEBSITE (learn more)
|
Last night I received an email from a friend in Australia warning me that Amazon was closing associate accounts because of not following the Associates Program Operating Agreements paragraph 10.
"...10. Identifying Yourself as an Associate
"... You must, however, clearly state the following on your site: “[Insert your name] is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to [insert the applicable site name (amazon.com, endless.com, smallparts.com or myhabit.com)]...”
I Googled "Amazon accounts closed and banned and read some horror stories. Associates losing their $1500+ a month income over night.
I immediately went to all my sites, landing pages and anything that had an Amazon affiliate link and added the paragraph 10 statement. The web link goes to one of my sites and shows what I did. That should take care of it (I hope :] )
Google and Amazon are very unforgiving when someone is in violation of their agreements, so watching for any changes to those agreements becomes very important. That importance will and should increase with the amount of money you are making using their programs.
I hope this will save some members from having the dreaded account closed notice arrive in their email.

 | | You welcome. This is the main reason I wanted to get the word out. Just be sure to tell your friends. I think this is a surprise to many. As luck will have it, the ones that can't afford to lose the income will be the ones caught by this.

| | | | | Thank you so much for the info. I have an affiliate account and was not aware of the statement to put on my site. |
| | | | | Glad to be of service. :] |
| | | | | Something I never knew about these two - thank you for the information Nick. |
| | | | | You Welcome Don, I've had the FTC one on my sites for some time, never knew Amazon had added their version. From what I understand some big names have been caught off guard and are losing a lot of money. I don't even recall if Amazon ever sent out a warning about a change to their operating agreement, but I bet they did. |
| | | | | Thanks for sharing Nick, that little omission could be a real horror story for those using that affiliate program. TB&L my friend |
