What to do when you have Chronic Obstructive Pulumonary Disease know as COPD this includes Asthma.
1. IF you have oxygen in the home never increase the liters unless you have been directed by your doctor.
2. Keep your tubing clean to prevent a build up of bacteria
3. Use your inhalers as directed by your doctor
4. Practice deep breathing exercises daily while watching a favorite television show. Deep breathing means sitting correctly in a chair or wheel chair if that is the case. Take in a deep breath slowly and blow out of perch lips. What I like to share with you, is image the lips of a fish, form your lips exactly like a fish and blow slowly. This takes practice.
I believe that sometimes we take our breathing for granted. If smoking is an issue speak to your doctor about alternative methods to quit. Never smoke around oxygen. Make sure there is a visible sign that others may see that Oxygen is in your home.
Notify your phone and electric companies and inform them that oxygen is in your home. It helps them to know if a disaster occurs.
Report the following findings to your doctor 1. Cold Symptoms 2. Change in color of your sputum (green, Brown, Yellow, Frothy, odorous) 3. Temperature over 100 4. Increase shortness of breath
Be good to your lungs there the best ballons you have.
