Do You Use Funnels?

No, I don't mean in the kitchen or the garage.


I mean when you are marketing anything online. It's very common to see the normal squeeze page (or opt in page) that has a form we can fill out with our contact details in order to get something in return, but if we do complete their call to action and don't buy, what then?

Most marketers will start an automatic flow of pitches to your email address and keep it up until you buy or die. A funnel is just a better approach to making sure the time or money invested into getting you to that page is not wasted after one bite at the apple.

The first step (or the big end of the funnel) is an attractive page with an offer that answers a question or problem the highest number of visitors are going to already have in their mind. Then if you can rub a little salt in that wound and offer some relief in the same breath, your odds go up exponentially.

Of course it's what you do if they pass ?
on the first thing you have a price tag on that counts. Let's face it, we are not in the business of giving away free stuff with no potential for some money changing hands at some point. That's where the funnel comes in. It gives more bites at the same apple without spending any more time or money to get there.

So give this a little thought before you run your next advertising. Are you going to take pot shots at a flock of birds flying by in the distance, or herd them into a funnel to feed the ones that make it out the bottom?
