Is FREE still a Magic Word?

I can still clearly remember when you could type the Magic Word FREE anywhere online and people would line up like they do for half priced Video Games on Black Friday!

It's a little different online today. Now you need to convince them that it really is free and not just some kind of gimmick to get them in the door so you can fleece them.?

Then again, maybe it's just that people are so focused on earning more credits to get their own advertising shown, that they really don't even see yours!

If you try to make it too clear and end up covering the side of a big red barn with enough copy to fill a full length novel, I'm not sure that works either. I know when I find long drawn out pages that go on and on about the same old regurgitated rhetoric you see everywhere, I don't read them, do you?

There is something to be said about VALUE and how it applies to your agenda that can kill the magic of FREE in a hurry. Then it just becomes another red flag that is too hard to believe, so people just filter it out with all the other magic words like ultimate, massive, unbelievable, revolutionary, and all the other hype we have grown to mistrust.

Ahhh, there's the answer! We need to build the trust factor BEFORE we spring the FREE word. Maybe (just maybe) they might take long enough to dig into our claim enough, to discover it really is FREE? I mean FREE, like take it and NEVER need to pay or jump through any hoops. I mean use it as long as you want to and then come back for more anytime you see fit.

Hmmmmm . . . something to think about.
