Why Twitter?

I asked myself this question more times than I can count, before it finally hit me. EXPOSURE!

The more exposure we can get, the more likely we will engage with other like-minded people for mutual benefit and Twitter is faster and easier than writing this PR was, so why not learn to use it for our benefit?

I set up a Twitter account just to promote my blog, so it's simple to Tweet about each entry I make and hope someone notices it, but a little proactive effort can increase that chance astronomically.

My blog is about starting a  SuperCheapBlog
, but there is something to say about introducing it to people who haven't heard of it yet. Who knows when you will strike a chord with one of them and get some fresh eyes to show your ideas to.

While I browse I frequently find posts that relate to what I do and figured they might have some readers that would be interested in what I do too. When I read an interesting post and decided to make a comment (especially if it's the first one there), instead of linking it directly to my blog, I linked it to my Twitter account, which in turn links to my blog.

Maybe I'm crazy, but my thinking was more exposure can lead to more engagement, which increases the odds they will take some kind of positive action. Like I said, it only takes a few moments to comment and I was entertaining myself at the same time.

What do you think?
