What Works Best?

I am getting organized to take a couple of weeks off and still be able to get online enough to not lose ground, so I have come to a conclusion that I think will carry me way beyond that couple of weeks.

I have spent hundreds of dollars and many hours of time, learning and applying various marketing tools, programs, systems and strategies to improve my results, but the one thing I have noticed that makes the real difference, is the content.

It doesn't seem to matter how fancy your page is, or how flashy your video shows, or if you use the latest techniques, if your message doesn't resonate with your potential prospect, it does no good at all. Likewise, if you tell your story well enough to hit the sweet spot, it could be a note scribbled on a napkin with a sharpie marker (and it doesn't even need to be a fine point one) and still bring home the bacon by the truckload.

Clinging to the idea that there are hundreds of hungry custoners out there, waiting for you to throw anything at them, ready to pounce on your message like a dog on a fresh bone, is usually going to lead to massive dissappointment for most people.

So I cancelled all my lead building systems and website subscriptions (except for one), learned how to edit my own HTML5 and CSS template and settled in to just focus on the content. So far it is making a difference, even with rock bottom free advertising venues like traffic exchanges.

I throw up a simple Mobile Ready web page with some common sense logic on it and have been getting one or two REAL contacts a day average that take action, instead of banging my head on the keyboard fighting to find any serious readers at all.

Something to think about while I am off playing most of the day.
