My Early Birthday Gift

Happy Birthday To Me

I had a passing interest in using some of the money I earn online to buy a camcorder to make talking head videos for YouTube and see if it works for me. I wanted one that had an LCD viewer that you can turn to see yourself in it as you shoot the video.

Most of the YouTube Gurus recommend a fancy SLR Camera with a video mode, instead of a webcam or camcorder, but they cost $600 and UP. I thought that was a little out of my budget, considering I had not tried shooting this style of videos myself yet. I mostly do screensharing tutorials.

So I continued to shop around on Amazon and found several camcorders in the $60 to $100 range that claimed they were for beginners and not professional quality, but I was tempted to try one to get a better idea if this was something I wanted to do on a regular basis. After struggling with which one would be best, I finally decided to table the motion for a while longer.

I don't know if you have paid much attention to the ads on IBO for Rebrandable Traffic, but that's what Amazon used on me. A couple of days later I got an email telling me a special offer was going to be made available to me for one day only, so I should watch for it.

Wouldn't you know, the offer was for the same camcorder I had spent the most time looking at, only they dropped the price from $67 down to $37.

Since I still had a balance on my gift card I earned by clicking ads online, it didn't take me long to pull the trigger and add an SD Memory card to my order.

Would you call that smart marketing on Amazon's part?
