Lift of the day

This Made My Day

It's easy to get lost in the everyday routine while trying to make a few extra bucks online, but once in a while something simple snaps your head around to remind you that this whole thing is real people, most of who put their pants on one leg at a time just like I do.

Yesterday was just such a day when a long time IBO associate of mine  gave me a phone call to focus my attention on the fact that my social networking icons under my profile were broken. I have been here many years and I made changes that I failed to update, so it was well received.

A simple thing, but it led to a great conversation that shined some light on several other little things that were inspirational and magnified our connection to make it much more REAL, which is the whole point of IBO Spirit (in my opinion).

As if that were not enough, it spilled over to this morning and I started thinking about how I could thank Bill Bateman for that jolt of energy that motivated me (and still does) when I read a PR he wrote last week about remembering our Fathers on their special day.

I can't send a card or a gift to my Father, but I do remember him in spirit. What I did do, was visit my Ancestry family tree and posted a copy of the 1941 news article from the Los Angeles Times that shared the final chapter in his all too short life story, so that future generations of our family tree will know a little more about him.

Actually he was only 24 years old and left three children, of which I was the oldest at three years of age, but our family has grown significantly in the 77 years since then.

It just points out how one small act of kindness can have a major impact on someone else's day and you may never even know it. So reach out whenever you can.
