Coming from a background in the concrete construction industry, it's a rather lengthy story of my transition into online affiliate / network marketing, but I'm sure you can imagine some of what it entailed.
The beginning of this transition was via a friend who was an AFLAC rep. I went to a meeting with him and yep, you guessed it, came home a representative myself. After getting all processed and licensed and all, I had a one week class to go through, about mid week of this class, one of our assignments was to go out and set appointments on our own, our upline could not go with us.
So I get up early the morning of, and start my prospecting among the local business in the town I grew up in. At 7:00am I went into the building of the first one. I was very nervous and you might imagine.
When I let the owner know that I wanted to talk to him about insurance, he became angry and rude and belligerent and threw me out. That's right, I literally got threw out on my very first appointment.
I left went out and got in my car and was sitting there trying to steady my emotions. After a short time, maybe 1/2 a minute to a minute or so, I'm not really sure, but the thought came to me
WELL, I guess it can't get any worse that this one, lets go on to the next.
In life, tenacity, endurance, commitment, courage, and such like are the things that determine success. Skills, talents, education, things like this are a plus, but many times can be learned and developed, but if you are not determined to stick it out, if you quit or give up, the chances of you failing go up to 100%.
I'm thankful that I did press ahead, and I'm also thankful that now there are business opportunities that are much easier to succeed at and actually earn money. Some even without sponsoring anyone else.
