Is the traffic jam blocking your progress?

The road to productive website traffic is clogged with systems that say they are the answer to all your problems.
Online traffic advertisement generally broadcast what they think marketers want to hear. Usually not much is said about you need. You are told about how thousands or even millions of visitors can see your ads. Ignored is the fact you need customers not visitors.

Popular phrases and words are 'free', 'automatic', 'hourly submissions', 'easy', and many more ways of getting you to join a program. Seemingly, massive traffic is all that is required for success.

You could ask, 'if large amounts of traffic is going to your site, why are you not getting the results you desire.' The truth lies in the fact that you are probably in the wrong traffic. Your progress is being block not only by the 'jam' caused by the variety of systems but you may be on the wrong road.

Here are some simple tips to help you avoid the 'traffic jam' and find the road that leads to your specific customers:

1.  Know and thoroughly understand your target market - It is impossible for you to reach your potential customers without knowing who they are and where they are. A system that delivers a zillion european visitors to your site, when your target market is in another geographic area, is as useless as getting more 'sand in a desert'. 

2.  Place a reliable statistics recorder on your website (all pages) - The best way to determine if your traffic system is actually sending visitors to your site is the ability to check on the amount and sources of the traffic you are getting. 

Services such as Clicky and RelMaxTop provide outstanding statistics. There are many good programs like those two. 

3.  Use Alexa.com to research the system you are considering using - You will learn the amount of traffic going to the system's site, geographic locations of its visitors, its rankings and much much more.

4.  Know the home base of the traffic company - You may be better served by a company located in the same location as your target market. Cultural considerations can play a critical role in obtaining the responses you need.

5.  If it is not working, don't hesitate to make a change - Don't fall in love with any traffic program except that it is delivering what you want. The only good system is the one that produces customers.

6.  Use common sense when making choices - Why would the most successful companies on the planet, pay millions of dollars to advertise, if there are programs on the internet that can deliver 'free'. Seek productive systems not so-called money saving bargains.
